Klarity Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what Klarity collects, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Klarity helps you understand and reply to your text conversations.
1. Information you give us
- Account: your email address and name, a password if you sign up with email (stored securely, never in plain text), or the identifier Apple or Google provides if you sign in with them. You can also add a profile photo or color.
- Conversations: the screenshots, messages and voice input you give Klarity, and the replies and insights it creates for you. Your chats are saved on your device.
- Onboarding answers: your age range, gender, what you want help with, how you found Klarity, and your texting style preferences. We use these to personalize Klarity and to understand who it helps.
2. Improving Klarity
To understand what people need help with and to make Klarity's suggestions better, we store and review the screenshots you upload, what you type, the replies Klarity writes, which replies you copy, and Klarity Notes responses. These are kept for up to 1 year and then deleted, and are deleted sooner if you delete your account.
3. Usage information
We record how the app is used, such as app opens, onboarding steps, features used, replies generated and copied, and general labels like the type of relationship or problem a conversation is about. This is tied to a random ID created on your device, not to your name. We do not store your IP address with this information.
4. Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple and our payments provider, RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status and history (such as plan, trial and renewal), never your card details. Your onboarding answers and device ID are attached to your subscription record so we can understand which plans fit which people.
5. How we use your information
- To run Klarity and create your replies and insights
- To personalize your experience
- To provide your account and subscription
- To understand how Klarity is used and what problems people bring to it
- To fix problems and improve the app
- To contact you about your account
6. AI and other service providers
To create replies, insights and voice features, your content is processed by AI providers such as OpenAI, ElevenLabs (voice) and Perplexity (deep search), only to provide the service. We also use RevenueCat (payments), Apple and Google (sign-in), Giphy (GIFs), Expo (app updates) and cloud hosting providers to store and run our services. Voice you speak to Klarity is processed in real time and is not stored by us. We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
7. Retention and deletion
Account information is kept while your account is active. Conversation content (section 2) is kept for up to 1 year. Usage information is kept as long as needed to understand and improve Klarity. When you tap Delete Account in Settings, we delete your account and the conversation content from your device. Chats saved only on your device are removed when you delete the app.
8. Your choices and rights
You can delete your account in Settings at any time, and contact us to access, correct or delete your information. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.
9. Security
We use encrypted connections and restricted, access-controlled storage. Screenshots are stored privately and are only accessible to authorized Klarity staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Age requirement
Klarity is intended for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will post the new version in the app and on this page and update the date above.
